Corporate Apparel
In addition to the actual function of work clothes, such as protecting the body or clear visibility, corporate apparel has an effect on image.
A uniform design is therefore imperative.
General. Introduction.
The design of corporate apparel follows a few simple rules. Strict adherence to these rules is of the utmost importance. The features and technical aspects of corporate apparel must always be tailored to the application range in order to fulfill all regulations.
All textile materials are allowed for production. These should always be coordinated with comfort, fit, and usage in mind.
Reproduction must always be of high quality.
General. Material and production.
Material
Any type of fabric can be used. It is essential, however, that the material is suitable for the working environment and complies with the statutory safety regulations.
Ensure good quality and tailoring – the fit, comfort, and functionality are important criteria.
When selecting workwear, look for durability, in particular as regards colorfastness and shape retention together with wash resistance.
Production
Apart from classic textile printing (digital flexographic, screen/stencil, dye sublimation, transfer film, direct to garment), the Continental logo can also be applied to workwear by embroidering and flocking (flock printing). If none of these techniques is feasible, the Continental logo can be applied by way of appliqués.
All technically viable means of implementation are allowed – the principal criterion remains the quality of the image. It is essential that you check feasibility, taking the intended size of the Continental logo into consideration. Some production techniques are unsuitable for small logos.
When reproducing the Continental logo, make sure that the color is reproduced faithfully.
Embroidery
Madeira thread should be used for textile embroidery. It is available in all Pantone colors. When embroidering hard textiles such as baseball caps, a minimum size of 5 mm should be used for all typography and graphic elements. On softer textiles, the elements to be embroidered should harmonize well with the overall size of the article. As a rule of thumb: the softer the textile, the larger the graphic elements should be.
Planning and advice
When planning and selecting workwear, seek advice from manufacturers and producers in advance.
General. Basic colors.
The whole Continental color set can be used when designing workwear. The choice of colors for the workwear should be sensible and expedient for each workplace and activity.
Please note the color combinations specified in the “Basic Elements” manual when using logos and lettering.
Branding placement. Introduction.
There are predefined places on the front and rear of workwear where the Continental logo may be placed. The Continental logo is not allowed to be positioned on areas other than these. Please always coordinate exact sizes with your local or regional communications team.
Branding placement. Front side.
Use of logo
Generally speaking, only the Continental logo without the tagline appears on workwear. The logo with tagline is not allowed.
When placing the logo on workwear, the logo must always be surrounded by the logo protection area. Make sure that the logo is not positioned too close to seams, buttons, zippers, or similar.
For details about the protection area of the logo setting and measures, please check out the chapter basic elements regarding logos.
Protection area
The obligatory space around the logo is a protective margin. The logo should never be used without it. The height / width of the protective margin (1x) is equal to half of the logo height (2x).

Such logos must never be positioned above or next to the Continental logo, but always below it and centered. Furthermore, the additional logo must never appear to be larger than the Continental logo.
