Elements
Elements are the basic building blocks of a website. They are based on the design foundation and are usually used in modules. Elements can be grouped into segments. Elements and segments cannot stand alone but need to be grouped into modules. To create a standardized appearance for the Continental website, core elements have been created and collected in the design system.
The design system divides the elements into four categories: Button and Links, Form and Inputs, Interactive Elements and Navigation. Elements should be used throughout the site.

Creating New Elements
Before developing new elements, please check whether one of the existing elements fulfills the purpose. If you can't find a suitable pattern, please contact the core design team with your request. They will be happy to collaborate with you to enhance the design system.
Our complete design system with technical specs is available on Figma for designers and developers. For access, refer to the Access Rights page.
